Just like old times

Growing up, Laura, our cousin Angela, and I would always spend the night at Grammy & Grandpa's...staying up late, laughing, gossiping, etc. The other weekend we made a return visit along with mom and Angela's two children. We arrived late Friday night...and just like old times, sat around the kitchen table eating Grammy's spread, laughing and gossiping into the early morning hours. On Saturday, we all visited Aunt Alice...pigged out at Umberto's Saturday night (followed by ice cream and cake - of course - back at G&G's). Sunday was Mother's Day so I surprised my MIL with a short visit and then met back up with my family for brunch at the good ol' pinkie diner. No matter how old I get, nothing beats staying at Grammy & Grandpa's!

The Bloom

It's been awhile since I've been home for Apple Blossom (or home at all, actually), so I decided to head back to Winchester for this year's Bloom! I got to spend time with Kristy, Domenic, and Rachel on Friday evening for the Fireman's Parade (the world's largest!) and fireworks. Rach & I then ran the 10k Saturday morning (her first!), checked out the feature parade, and topped off the evening with a BBQ with some of Rach & Jeremy's friends. I even squeezed in some QT with mom and Laura while we walked around Sunday in the Park. A great weekend with some of the greatest women in my life! :)

*Disclaimer: Because of a family emergency, Kristy wasn't able to run the race with us, but was there with us in spirit! :)

Pop goes the...Question!

A little over a month ago Jon popped the question...and my little sister said YES! While celebrating their 2-year anniversary with a hike and picnic in the woods, Jon surprised Laura with cupcakes topped with M&M's that said "Laura will you marry me?" We're all now excitedly counting down to May 14, 2011 when they tie the knot in Winchester! Congrats Laura and Jon!!!
