Countdown to Baby D!

Yes, we're pregnant!!! On February 3rd, Frank & I found out the most amazing (and life changing) news...We learned that we're having a baby!!! We were (and still are) absolutely thrilled! We had wanted and tried for a baby for quite a long time and couldn't believe at first that our dream had come true...But then our first sonogram at 6 weeks confirmed our little miracle! Luckily I've had an extremely easy pregnancy so far with no morning sickness and minimal tiredness. At times I even questioned if I was actually pregnant! But rest assure - little Baby D is expected to make his/her entrance into the world on October 12th!

Here's our 8 week sonogram, where we got to hear Baby D's heartbeat for the first time, which brought tears to my eyes. What an amazing sound!

I started taking pictures of my bump at 10 weeks (maybe a bit early, but hey, we're excited!) and granted, most of them look like I've just eaten a big meal, but I really feel like I'm starting to show - At 16 weeks, I weighed myself at the gym on Wednesday (yes, I am still running & doing Body Pump) and I've gained 7.2 pounds! At this point most of my pants (except my 'fat pants') are too tight to button and I rely on my belly band to hold them up and keep me looking somewhat put together!

On May 16th we go for our 18 week sonogram where we could find out if Baby D is a little boy or a little girl, but WE ARE NOT! (Which, for the record, Frank objects to but is very graciously appeasing my wishes.)

We've told our family and friends (and co-workers), little-by-little, and made our announcement "Facebook Official" last Friday. Now that Baby D is known by all, I plan to document each week on our blog for our family & friends who live far away as well as for my own memories.

Let the countdown begin!!

Congrats again, Regina! Could just be the pregnancy hormones, but I'm tearing up just reading this blog post! So glad that the first trimester was easy for you! It's so exciting that our two littles ones will be so close in age!! Talk to you soon - xo!
