April 11, 2014...Otherwise known as 5 months that we've been out of our house. I know that we are extremely fortunate to be able to custom build our house, to have a sister and brother-in-law willing to open their home to our family, to have family around to help us with the kids...let's face it - I could go on and on. I know we are blessed. Which is why I feel extremely guilty writing this - but I am so ready for this experience to be OVER! I'm ready to have all of our belongings with us (most of our things are in a POD). I'm ready for Julia to have her own room. I'm ready to be organized instead of having our things crammed in a basement. I'm ready for my husband to not have to commute 3 hours a day. I'm ready to have our usually activities and network of friends and neighbors close. I'm ready to not have to travel an hour to go the doctor. I am so freaking ready for our house to be done!
Phew...Glad to get that off my chest.
Last week we had our pre-concealment walk through and inspection. Windows are in (however, our doors are on backorder.) This week insulation goes in and then drywall up. They say drywall is the halfway point. So, with our footers being poured in February, we're supposedly on track for a July 1 completion. We aren't holding our breath. Instead we are saying our prayers. ;)
What an incredible feeling when we walked through the house post framing! It's one thing to design a house on paper but to actually walk through the rooms was awesome! Frankie had a blast running around - He even picked his room (with some guidance from us).
We are getting there...I think.
