It's
still hard for me to call Julia a toddler, but I guess she technically is. Although
she is well beyond toddling – She full out runs everywhere. Tap, tap, tap, tap go her little feet as she
hustles away from her brother, carrying one of his stuffed animals or cars...or running to the pantry to try to get a snack out of me.
Her vocabulary is growing: hi, bye, night-night, book,
baby, bunny, tree, car, ball, boot, milk (signing), please (signing), thank you.
We
started taking her bottle away, hesitantly.
We introduced milk from a cup & straw months ago, but – warm
or cold – she won’t drink it. She will
only drink her milk from a bottle. Knowing it will be harder the longer we
wait, we cut out her daytime bottles, so she’s down to a morning & bed time
bottle. And after two weeks, she still turns her nose up at milk in cups. I've tried buying every kind – regular whole milk, single serve vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, regular milk boxes, and chocolate and vanilla almond milk –
nada. Sometimes she will take a sip or two, but usually she pushes the cups
away. Frankie was the same way – he essentially stopped drinking milk once we
took his bottle away. So, I’ll continue
to stress that she’s not getting enough calcium and keep pushing milk along
with yogurt, cheese, smoothies, etc. These
kids!
This girl has 4 new teeth - yes 4 molars bring her grand total to 12 teeth at 15 months!
A few of Julia's favorite past times:
A few of Julia's favorite past times:
- Reading - love listening to stories and just sitting and flipping through books
- Dancing - let's hope her dance moves are better than Daddy's and brother's
- Loves her dolls - it's really amazing how much she gravitates towards them. She loves pushing them in her stroller, carrying them, hugging and cuddling them and 'feeding' them.
