Today was my first day of my new job! As most of you now know, I’m staying with Accenture but switching from Consulting to our Enterprise workforce, which is our internal group. I’m working with the Client Financial Management (CFM) team on the US VISIT project in Roslyn and am super excited! Since my new gig is so close to home, I decided that I would try out this public transportation thing – to avoid the high cost of parking and also try to help the environment. Turns out it’s really not that bad; although it is quite annoying that my trip home from 10 miles away took about 45 minutes from the time I left the office, walked to the bus stop, waited for the bus, and then rode it home amid all of the stops in between. It also didn’t help that I was so worried about passing my stop, that I pulled the ‘Stop Request’ cord way too soon and ended up walking an extra 7 or so blocks home. With a little practice, I think I could get used to it, though.
On a completely different note, it’s so gorgeous outside today – I’m currently relaxing on our deck as I type this (and stuffing my face with Peanut Butter M&Ms). It seems as though spring is finally here – I hope this is not Mother Nature’s way of playing an April Fools joke on us! Regardless, more nice weather is in store for Frank & I – We leave tomorrow morning for Las Vegas!
