Take Me Out to the Ball Game

On Saturday, Rachel and a few others from Winchester came into town to check out the new Nationals stadium. The forecast was calling for scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon so we had our fingers crossed that the game wouldn’t get rained out…Well, towards the end of the game I was hoping something would cause them to call the game! I never really realized how boring baseball games can be. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think I would rather attend a soccer game than a baseball game. Is that a faux pas since baseball is the “great American past time”? At any rate, I’m glad we got to check out the new stadium – They did a really nice job and based on plans, it seems like that area of town will eventually be really nice.

Even though the game didn’t get rained out, there was a rain delay of about 1 ½ hours – We spent most of this time at the Red Porch (bar in the outfield), where we randomly ran into three of our friends from high school. Catching up with them might have been the highlight of the game – I’m sure the Nationals didn’t enjoy the day too much either since they lost 10-2 to the Braves.
